Announcing our new website - Royal Free Hospital Medical Library

The Royal Free Hospital Medical Library is delighted to announce the launch of our new website. Designed with a fresh new look and improved navigation the website now follows the design of the UCL Medical School website.

On the new website you can find all the information you need about using the library, the resources available to you through the library and the services we offer. You can also find an outline of useful services depending on your role.

We hope that you enjoy discovering and using our new site. If you have any comments on the new site then please let us know.

Bank holiday opening hours, May 2014

Royal Free Medical Library opening hours for the bank holidays in May are as follows:

Monday 5 May 9.00am - 6.00pm
Monday 26 May 9.00am - 6.00pm

New extended opening hours, including Sundays, April to end of July 2014



Starting Sunday 6 April 2014, the Royal Free Medical Library will be operating the following opening hours, to end of July 2014:

Monday-Friday 09:00-22:00
Saturday 09:00-17:00
Sunday 11:00-17:00

All regular staffed library services will be available during these opening hours, including during the new Sunday opening hours.

Easter opening hours 2014

Medical Library opening hours over the Easter period are as follows:

The library is open as normal up to and including Wednesday 16 April 2014.
  • Thursday 17 April 9am-6pm
  • Friday 18 - Monday 21 April CLOSED
  • Tuesday 22 April 9am-6pm
Normal opening hours will resume on Wednesday 23 April 2014.

Going green



The Royal Free Library has been examining its green credentials and would like to direct readers who are interested to the following resources:
  • NETPositive is a new tool designed for all students at UCL. It can help you develop new skills, boost your employability and use your time at UCL for good. Use it to find out about: 
    • volunteering opportunities in your local community 
    • how to boost your employability 
    • ways to save energy and carbon in your home 
    • getting more involved in the campus community 
  • UCL's green pages are regularly updated and provide information on UCL's environmental statements, the UCL environmental sustainability team, UCL's Green Champions and getting involved.
